Only flying B-17 in Europe (Sally B) Duxford, UK

How we enjoyed this side trip we took when staying in Cambridge, with wonderful friends, Peter and Ilona Greyling. We were in England part of May/June, 2009. This is one of many planes on display at Duxford, among them a Concord, and and a Blackbird. This Boeing Flying fortress, B-17G, is on loan to to the Imperial War Museum. We enjoyed many other planes, including the Memphis Belle. This plane was designed for daylight high attitude precision bombing. This bombing of Germany by these planes, which had 13 machine guns, was the main bomber used against Germany.
